Bondi (pronounced “bond-eye”) is a iconic Sydney beach and one of our more recognised beaches for tourists around the world, it’s situated 7 kms east of the Sydney CBD.

Bondi Beach is the end point of the City to Surf Fun Run which is held each year in August. World Environment Day in June, and Sculpture By The Sea in November are another two popular events held there as well as the weekly Bondi Beach Markets held each Sunday.

Bondi Bathers Surf Lifesaving Club is the world’s first surf lifesaving club and North Bondi Surf Lifesaving Club is a federation club. Both clubs were founded in 1907. Bondi members invented the surf reel and many other icons of lifesaving.

Surf Lifesavers from both clubs were involved in the largest rescue ever on a single day, known as ‘Black Sunday’ on 6 February 1938 where 5 people drowned and over 250 were rescued after a series of large waves struck the beach and pulled people back into the sea.

Aussie Gold or rather, Green and Gold are Australia’s national colours proclaimed in 1984 by the then Governor-General, Sir Ninian Stevens. Prior to this, since the late 1800′s green and gold have been used as a national sporting colour.

There are two thoughts on why these two particular colours, some people suggest it’s because of the golden wattle – Australia’s national floral emblem – and the other theory is that it has strong environmental connections. The gold represents the country’s beaches, mineral wealth, grain harvests and the fleece of Australian wool and the green of the forests, gum trees and pastures of the country’s landscape.

As mentioned it’s the colours mostly adopted by sporting teams and so easily recognisable at various sporting events – the Aussies don’t fade into the background with these bold colours. This wolf t-shirt is my favourite, I’m Sam and manage the daily operation of the business. I love the tie dyes in The Mountain brand t-shirts and this Wolf Sunset T-Shirt is definitely one of my favourites. We have 78 products in the wolf t-shirt category, so it isn’t easy!
