Blog Action Day 2009: Climate Change

Australian-Native T-Shirts this year decided to join in Blog Action Day 2009: Climate Change as it’s such an important issue facing the world today and the future of our planet.

With this in mind, we strive to find suppliers of our products that have the same ideas for the future of our planet and use environmentally friendly ways in the production of their products.

Wild Planet, which started trading as Planet Earth, here in Australia supports the Human Society International who are actively involved in environmental and animal welfare protection.

They are true believers in taking care of our wonderful planet and use only environmentally sensitive dyeing and printing techniques and packaging, using unbleached cotton wherever possible and all their packaging is made from recycled material. Wild Planet constantly review their procedures to ensure that they are continually making a contribution to a safer planet for all of us.

The Mountain® is a leader in using environmentally-friendly water-based inks for nearly 20 years, before it was the “in thing” to do. The Mountain® started using organic cotton 15 years ago, at a time when it was rare. Both founders for many years have done what they can on a personal level to increase organic cotton growing as well as being advocates for local, national and worldwide conservation organisations who are dedicated to keeping land preserved so that ecosystems can remain intact for future generations. This helps lower their carbon footprint by so much.

At Australian-Native T-Shirts, we review processes of our manufacturers from time to time to make sure that we can do our part in helping to lower carbon emissions, preserve land and ecosystems by buying as many “green” and “earth friendly” products to supply in our store.

Climate change is a big issue, everyone can play an important part in helping to reverse the damage and save our planet, it only takes a few small changes to make a BIG difference if everyone would do it.

Due to the popularity of the pewter figurines and gifts on Australian Native T-Shirts, we decided to open a new store so we could offer more of a range of these beautifully hand crafted figurines and gifts.

These are beautifully designed Pewter figurines and are made in North Queensland by Aradon Pewter, the best part is they are 100% Australian made so you’re assured of quality. Aradon Pewter hand craft these pewter figurines and gifts as well, so you know that each figurine is unique as no two pieces can be alike. Bearing that in mind, these would make unique gifts for just about anyone as well as those who collect pewter figurines.

Currently we stock different sizes from small to large (and in between) sized pewter figurines. Australian Native Animals feature well and all the traditional favourites are there, check out the sweet koalas, kangaroos, echidnas, platypus and others.

The Heritage Series features many things typically Australian, exploring both its rich culture and history. We have pewter figurines of the early gold miners, Australian Aboriginals doing traditional bush skills, infamous bushranger Ned Kelly and different cattle breeds to name but a few. We have a huge range of Pewter Belt Buckles in small, medium and large to suit most tastes. Belt buckles are collected by many and we have something to suit most men, styles range from motorcycle logos to farming, cattle and Australian country music.

Dinosaurs aren’t extinct in our collection of Pewter figurines and gifts either as we have a range of different Pewter Dinosaurs which are often a favourite with children.
